A new service called Urban Bundles is looking to grow its retail client list by offering a more luxurious approach to online delivery.
Recently launched London-based logistics business Urban Bundles says it has been attracting retail customers with a bespoke software offering and a range of innovative services that can be used in the online delivery process.
The organisation, which was launched in 2013 by university friends Kate Kennedy and Lucy Major, aims to add some “luxury” to the final mile of customer fulfilment. The company employs smart-suited delivery men and offers extra services such as ‘wait & return’, which allows shoppers to try goods on and return them straight away if they are unsuitable.
Urban Bundles concentrates on specific London postcodes at present, and is currently working with Aquascutum and Thomas Pink, but it has plans to expand in the future.
Kennedy explained: “Premium brands want to distinguish themselves, and with the growth of online shopping, tailoring the delivery to the customer is the obvious next step.
“Although we are seeing retailers getting excited about click & collect, we think instant gratification is the next step. I think that same-day delivery will be the buzzword soon – people want things immediately, and that’s the only way online shopping will replicate the in-store experience.”
The delivery firm has also signed up 25 independent boutiques to date, but is keen to work with small and large luxury retailers and department stores.
Another feature of the service is the company has access to a range of classic cars, vintage bikes or quirky electric vehicles, which can be tailored to a retailer’s individual brand or customer experience requirements.
